Honestly, the best way is to put off all the springs, take apart the safety net & padding, fold the mat and thus dismantle the trampoline and reassemble it in your new place.

The best way to pack a trampoline for moving is taking it down first. Here’s the step by step process of how you can pack a spring-based trampoline in a proper way so that it takes minimum time in addition, no part goes missing.  

Therefore, if your trampoline is rusty, gloves are a must. You’ll have to be extra cautious so that you don’t end up hurting yourself. Again if any part seems too rusty, try to replace it soon.

Necessary Tools

You’ll need very few things to disassemble the trampoline. And those toolkits are included with the full package trampoline. It contains :

• A Phillips head screwdriver
• A spring puller 
• A rubber mallet 

You might be thinking about the spring tool for putting off the springs. But as you go with me, you’ll discover that is not essential as well. Gather some cardboard boxes and plastic bags for storing small nuts, bolts and other separate pieces of the trampoline.

Removing the Safety Padding

Take Springs off the Trampoline

Most people fear this part. But if you have your spring tool & you know how to use it properly, then there’s nothing worrying. 

• Place the spring tool beneath the spring’s hook-end firmly. Trampolines have v-ring or d-ring embedded with the trampoline mat. Now, pull the spring aiming the center of the trampoline in such a way, it extends and loosens from the ring. Then you can easily slip it off, and remove it from the frame of the trampoline.

• There’s another way to take off the springs, that is with an old spring. Put off the first spring with the spring tool and then use this removed spring to take off the others.

• If you take a close look, you’ll find two ends of these springs, one end is almost close curved for hooking around the rings; the other has a gap, having more open end for adjoining the frame of the trampoline. Use this more opened end and you can easily remove the remaining springs. 

• Unhook the spring end attaching the metal frame by pulling the open spring. Thus the spring would release and unhook from the trampoline. This approach is your lifesaver if you lack the spring tool!

Folding the Mat 

Fold your mat properly so that it becomes neat and takes minimal space. 

Disassembling the Frame

Time to use the Phillips head screwdriver. Only unscrew all the top screws and store them in a bag. 

Now pull the top frame towards your body at the same time pushing your body weight on the middle of the trampoline legs. Do this one by one for all of the legs and the legs will separate easily. If any of the legs are stiff, just spin it around and it’ll come out. After removing the legs, you’ll be able to take the outer ring apart. 

Packing up the Spring-based Trampoline 

You’re finished finally! Just sort the piles and pack away in appropriately sized boxes.

Don’t mix almost the same looking different parts together. 

Packing up the Springfree Trampoline

• Firstly, put off the white c-clips placed at the bottom which holds the rod sockets of the net. 

• Grab the rod above the head, bend it a little and then pull it down. With the other hand, grab the rod down near the socket so that you can pull it gently out of the socket. Do this patiently, keeping full control as you go.

• Make sure all the other c-clips are in place before removing the rod or they can turn apart while you’re trying to pull it down. You must have the c-clips on every rod joiner before you start.

• Now remove the net rods from the pockets on top of the nets. Dust and other pollutants tend to make these rods stiff, complex to come out. Twist it back and forth or splash water if it becomes hard to remove.
• Slide the rod joint and fold the rods in half to store. Make sure to remove all the c-clips while you’re folding the rods.

• Pull the net continuously so it goes down and sits at the bottom of the mat rods. 

• You’ll need two people to de-install and pack up the springfree trampoline. One is below the trampoline, pulling the rods towards the center of the mat. The other one on the outside grabs the mat rod holder and disengages the bolt from the mat rod holder and pulls to glide them out.

• Remove all the rods. Then take out the mat, fold and store.

• To remove the legs from the frame, first take out the bolts all around the trampoline. Then one person should hold the frame up and another take out the leg. 

• Remove all the bolts holding the frame and store them.

• So you’re done packing up! Now store each and every part safely and keep the mat and the net away from sharp edges. 

How to move a trampoline by yourself

Moving a large trampoline just by yourself can be pretty hard because it’s very heavy. However if you don’t have anyone to help then the best way would be to disassemble the whole trampoline and move it part by part. 

Or if you just want to move it from one corner to the other corner of your backyard, then our suggestion will be to use trampoline wheels. And we already described the process of using trampoline wheels.
